Quaranwine if the day. Looks like I may have been exposed so expect ever so many quaranwines. Ps I feel great but I am doing my part and chilling indoors next two weeks. If I don’t die from lack of hugs, I shall live to drink more more more Burgundy. Especially the sometimes overlooked Cote Chalonnaise. This is ever so exuberant. It just leaps out of the glass at you. Or maybe I’m projecting how I’m gonna be in a coupe weeks. Anyway. Ripe frisky fruits, spice, sass, with this one odd footnote that says raspberry vinegar and herbs. Keeping us thoroughly en France.

Classic Faiveley showing strength and structure on the palate but flowers and spice on the nose. Easy to pick up and enjoy for a Premier Cru.

Exuberant and showing well now, this single vineyard Burgundy exhibits raspberry liqueur, cranberry, black cherry, cola, dark chocolate, with sweet red spice and crushed rock, dried leaves, and a hint of licorice. Medium body and acid and fine, integrated tannin. Lovely with pheasant on a winter vegetable purée.

Big fruit nose. Very tight but forward. Tart cherries. Lively and fun but needs time would love to revisit in 15 years

A fine 1er Cru and one of the great values in the Faiveley lineup. This bottle behaved poorly as so many other young Burgundies have, showing a seductive burst of fruit and savory earth initially before turning rather aromatically mute after 2 hours. It never fully regained form, but I am almost certain it will be gorgeous in another year or two. On the palate it is showing well with a very defined and supple mineral structure and focused acidity. In a dumb phase now but is sure to grow up soon.
