Nov 30th, 2024When a wine is stored properly, it shows! Lots of plum and blackberry left in this puppy. Even the slight bretty notes didn’t bother me. I convinced myself that they were actually leathery old school bag and enjoyed the wine with a lovely niçoise salad

This 29-year old wine was enjoyable to drink, and showed so much complexity, from cinnamon bark to white raisins to that lovely interface that cassis forms when poured over vanilla ice cream. We had it with Wagyu beef lasagna where the pasta was made from scratch. Memorable pairing!!
