Domaine du Moulié
Madiran Tannat
I’m trying more French wines to expand my knowledge. I had no idea what this was when I bought it. I guess it’s not often you find a 100% Tannat 🤷♀️ it’s usually blended to tone down the acidity and tannins. I don’t find it too tannic but it is quite acidic but not intolerable. Nice black fruit on the palate as it describes, oakiness on the nose and a very nice dark garnet color. Sitting out by the pool on this very pleasant Florida evening with a steak on the grill. Cheers! 🍷🥩

Oct 1st, 2020Lovely dark fruits with a hint of coffee on the nose. Super smooth, with some slightly feisty tannins. Long finish, with lots of ripe dark fruits. However, after opening for a half hour it never fully developed and we thought it was just "ok". We have not had much tannat and aren't as familiar with it, so we may try a different producer next time.
