Domaine des Pins
Les Pierres Saint Amour Gamay
Hell yeah! Impressed w/this Cru which I’m not familiar - deeply dark ruby/inky & opaque, gorgeous, generous & elegant nose of pure red fruit, cherry cough drop, liqueured, sweet spice like cinnamon & allspice, white pepper, mineral. Very complex & engaging. Decent heft & grip on palate w/tannins/acidity playing nicely. This has such a beautiful dusty red fruited flavor, herbaceous almost Sangiovese-like. I could see PN comparisons as well… this really delivered for around $20-22 and I can see some aging potential.

Jan 23rd, 2022A very different Gamay than what Im used to... medium ruby color. Aromas of rose petals, pomegranate and clay. This Gamay has more Pinot flavors, with cherry and an earthy finish. A break from the “usual” Beaujolais.

Oct 26th, 2018Dark maroon color. Full body, Medium+ acid and high tannins. Flavors or plum, spice, and earth. Feels like is needs food to build out on the pallet.
