Soft lush and in a perfect drinking phase right now. Great intensity and evolved flavors.

1995 vintage in magnum. In La Lune in Beaune. Gift from Thierry Brouin at Domaine des Lambrays. Medium ruby hue. On the nose, earthy, manure, mineral wet stone aromas with air. Some subtle oak. Black fruited. Quite fresh from magnum. On the palate, medium acidity and tannins - chewy, medium alcohol and medium plus concentration - dried plums and cranberry, stewed fruits. A little more developed in the palate than on the nose. Decent length. Drink now - not sure it's a keeper. Enjoyable. With air, herby perfume - appealing; touch of tan hide.

1995 vintage. From Jay. Washed out ruby in colour with real fading on the rim. The wine is really showing its age. Beautiful on the nose. Almost perfume like with notes of dried red roses and fresh violets. Good fruit on the mid palette with a lovely finish that lasts close to a minute. An abundance of mature red fruits and just enough acidity to keep the whole thing together but I suspect for not much longer. I don't perceive any upside in holding on to this for any longer so drink up!

1995 vintage in magnum. Pale, slightly murky shade of tawny brown. I thought this bottle might be corked when removing the cork. But the initial off smells have faded with air. There's not a whole lot of fruit left on the nose. Some earthy notes, mixed with a bit of vanilla wood. Clearly mature. On the palate, better than the nose. Medium acidity, medium alcohol and medium minus body. The tannins are medium but grippy and a little coarse. There's a black fruit medium concentration of flavour, with hints of dark chocolate and raisin. Medium finish. Overall a disappointing slightly off bottle - clearly some oxidation here, probably from a cork issue. N/A score therefore.
