2022/8/4 with filet mignon etc. While everyone knows Lafon’s Santenots needs time, I couldn’t help trying this, egged on by reviews talking about its lively, fresh fruit. Indeed, that element was present, but it was obviously very young and tightly packed in - the fruit, structure, and wood not quite fully integrated yet, with the complexity and spice lurking in the background.

Lovely. Red fruit and smoke. Medium bodied and with subtle, compact tannins. A lively and elegant finish where those tannins come to life.
