Fruit and earth - has potential for a rough vintage wine

Nice but overshadowed this night

What an experience... Thrilling and haunting... Decaying lavender, Herbes de Provence, green olives, damp earth and cured meats. I could continue, but I'd much rather stop and enjoy this one.

After decanting, a strange note of charcoal on nose. Lacking the complexity of a Premier or Grand Cru but VG for a Village wine. 17-

#2002 dans le classicisme du domaine. Coloré, puissant et élégant.

Denis Mortet was a master of the Marsannay. So good.

#2004 Superbe nez, bouche en retrait, limite terreuse

I am a fan. And this one does not disappoint. Now this is unfortunately 100 bucks for a Marsannay - was 68$ when bought. Quite classy with a ton of fruit mostly 🍒 Morello and dark sweet cherries. Big and broad for a Pinot. Could have this with steak. The back palate is blueberry, lime, graphite, Seems quite extracted and dark. Unspitable. Will last 5 years give or take. Would i buy this again yes. Can it compete at this price level with German Pinots - No.

Pretty nose. Red fruit and floral notes (rose petals, peonies). Medium to full bodied. Red fruit flavors. Lively, quite fresh. Fine tannins
