Insanely good. Modern and clean with some ripe aromas and flavors. Super Burgundian on the palate. Shows how charming volnay CAN be. Dusty fruit on the nose with black tea and a little eucalyptus. Long long wine that should have the legs to go for years and years to come

Pale, translucent ruby in the glass with muted aromas of red cherry and no discernible influence of new oak. Balanced and medium bodied with tart cherry and cranberry fruit on the palate. Velvety texture with substantial tannic grip and only 12.5% alcohol. Farmed biodynamically and vinified with 33% whole clusters with only 20% new barrels used. This premier cru vineyard is named after the property's owner in the 18th century Renaud de Sessie and is a nice introduction to the domaine’s elegant style. Paired well with a brunch of steak and eggs.

Winter Strawberry Compote meets the mushroom forest floor of Big Sur. When sitting next to Gary Franscioni at Nepenthe at one of the best tables in the restaurant.... You buy another bottle to sit longer and take in view and watch the fog roll in!

Very smoky, gassy, brooding, meaty, closed at first. Served far too warm. After a spell on ice, black cherry, cola, floral perfume, anise emerged. Temp SO important. Lovely with wild salmon. Needs time.

Time in the bottle has softened this typical backward de Montille Pinot. Tastes 5 years younger than it is.

Stewed, cranberries, strawberries, rhubarb, cinnamon stick, hint of nutmeg, light mushroom, forest floor, nice chalky minerality. Soft, smooth and elegant on the palate.
