Dec 6th, 2019Pale, translucent ruby in the glass with muted aromas of red cherry and no discernible influence of new oak. Balanced and medium bodied with tart cherry and cranberry fruit on the palate. Velvety texture with substantial tannic grip and only 12.5% alcohol. Farmed biodynamically and vinified with 33% whole clusters with only 20% new barrels used. This premier cru vineyard is named after the property's owner in the 18th century Renaud de Sessie and is a nice introduction to the domaine’s elegant style. Paired well with a brunch of steak and eggs.

Dec 31st, 2017Very smoky, gassy, brooding, meaty, closed at first. Served far too warm. After a spell on ice, black cherry, cola, floral perfume, anise emerged. Temp SO important. Lovely with wild salmon. Needs time.
