Le Clos du Roi Corton Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Needed a very long decant but when came out of its shell boy was this classy & powerful

Wet damp earth, both black and red cherry, dried herbs, candied Apple. M+ acid, chalky tannin, m body. Very young. Needs more time to develop.

Another stunner. The nose is exotic with the wood, fruit and spices working in harmony. Suave tannins meld with morello cherries and strawberries. Acid is perfect. The wine is ethereal and rolls on and on.

Earthy woodsy almost funky goodness. Maybe a bit overripe? Lots of length.

Gorgeous aromas. Complex, expressive, and well balanced. Red fruit, rhubarb, dried herbs, tea leaves, and slight pepper finish. Decanted for 60 minutes. Very good!

Extraordinary Pinot with rich ripe red currant and nicely structured tannins.

Maybe I don’t like 2003 anywhere in France. The lack of acidity made everything seem muddled.

Black cherry with intensity of fruit buffered by bright acidity and medium minerality. Went very well with Easter ham.
