Smoky, nutty, bright lemon rind. And the in the mouth gorgeously bright lemon curd, wet stones and grapefruit.

2009 vintage. In double magnum. At Boca Di Lupo. On opening, the cork had collapsed on the inside and created a hollow. As such, I was worried that the wine had been compromised. On first showing, it seemed flat and dull. With some air, it improved somewhat. More of a Chablis austere style than a typical Burg Chardonnay. Grapefruit and lemon rind. Mineral and crisp, some smokey notes - reduction. Wood became noticeable with more air, as did honeysuckle notes. On the palate, fairly light bodied, medium plus acidity and medium minus concentration. Finish was not the longest. Quaffable but no knock out. Cork might have had a negative influence on the development. Drink now until 2022.
