Nice uncomplicated nose with barrel toast and red berry fruit.

The mid palette is robbed of weight and texture. Comes across as light, with vegetal overtones. Very expensive for what it is.

4/7 update - I applied the tasting note from the Nuit St George to the Beaune. Now corrected. In my opinion, the Beaune is a pass.

Tart cherry, forest floor and earth notes. Very light color extraction, but nice, focused concentration

Nose of grilled meats, chili flakes, herbes de Provence, macerated cherries with cloves and a nice salinity. Mature. Enjoyable on the palate with a long finish - advanced fruit suggest downhill slide, yet tannins have good if somewhat powdery grip. Late breaking: evolving into a bacon fat extravaganza in the glass and weirdly cherry fruit is brightening May have prejudged as a less profound wine...
