Beautifully textured and rounded. Impressive structure which was compelling and seductive; convincing good aging potential. Pure magique.

2013 vintage. From Jay. Domaine de la Romanee Conti Romanee St Vivant 2013 - Quick Note/Initial Thoughts: Light ruby colour reminiscent of a Nebbiolo with good bottle age but with a brightness that betrays its youth. Forest fruits and Asian spice together with a hint of soy on the nose. Quite reductive. Subtle on the attack but with elegance and great poise on the mid palate. Lovely structure to the tannins. Very well balanced acidity. There is a great deal of finesse. The classic RSV femininity is here, in terms of the constitute components, but it will take time for this wine to be a lady she has the potential to be. The finish is long and graceful showing good fruit through to the very end. 95/100. Drink 2026 to 2045.
