On the nose, subtle fruits of; sweet & sour dark cherries, fresh ripe strawberries, notes of blue fruits, extracted pomegranate, cherries, black raspberries, fresh red roses and pink flowers. Palate fruits are, fresh, lean, ripe and slightly tart; dark cherries, black raspberries, cherries, strawberries, deep fine chalkiness, minerals that are soft and strangely fresh and delicate. Lean, rich, moist dark earth, fresh red flowers, red & pink roses, liquid violets, elegant, smooth as silk with beautiful fresh acidity. A bottle you want to sip all night.

An amazing nose that starts with a bouquet of Violets, smoke, cherries, spices. The aromatics are ridiculous!! Thanks, Benjy

Vibrant red cherry, strawberry and lavender on the nose of this young DRC. The palate was complex with lively red/dark berry and an intriguing potpourri sachet note. Impressive is an understatement. Certainly better with age but a real treat now.

How to enjoy a working lunch! Lots of dark fruit with the perfect bit of spice. A delight to drink. Paired with the “Austin Hippie Salad” with salmon.

Great wine even tho it was extremely young. Red fruit forward but not jammy. Little bit of mushroom and earthiness.

I know, stupidly young but couldn't resist given the price. A beautifully clear and vibrant wine. A punchy nose of Red and blue fruit with a green pepper note- greeness? On the palate fresh, tight, young. With time, broadening with blueberry fruit. Very clear and sappy. A touch tart. Ok finish with a touch of zing. I don't have enough experience to know what this becomes, but promising.... A few days later it's settled. Peppery, lovely red fruit. Very good.

2013 vintage. From Jay. Domaine de la Romanee Conti Grands Echezeaux 2013 - Quick Note/Initial Thoughts: Classic ruby colour. Unlike the Echezeaux this shows very well on the nose with little restraint. Lovely fruit on the nose - really jumps out of the glass. Forest fruits, cinnamon, cloves, Christmas spice. The initial attack on the front palate is immediate - this wine wants to get on with it! Crescendo across the mid palate by the standards of a DRC at this youthful point. Rich and sappy - bordering on rustic for a DRC (this is meant in the most relative of fashions). Good sweetness and the most fruit forward of the wines from the vintage at this time. The finish is both long and rewarding. 94+/100/ Drink 2021 to 2035.
