Dark garnet purple in the glass. Nose is very shy; plum, purple berry, not much grape. Echoed on the palate, but most fruit is gone. Soft tannins and a bit of darkness on the finish. Wasn't intended to last this long, so not disappointed. Besides it still compliments grilled salmon nicely.

Beaujolais Villages Noveau? Came in ahead of the appellation wide stuff in our tasting, nice to see the AOC means something- delicious and even a bit tannic!

Seeing that this is likely a Beaujolais Nouveau makes sense as far as the price and flavor profile. Slight bubble gum with slightly meaty flavor with the fruit: cherry, blackberry, nice smokiness.

Rasberry/blueberry sno-cone, bubble gum. Fun, juicy Nouveau. Fifth bottling Ive had this season and would say it falls somewhere in the middle.
