The 2020 Brouilly Vieilles Vignes did not seem quite correct on the nose to me. It's a bit smudged and missing the clarity of all the other cuvées that I noticed at the Domaine. The palate is likewise a little sweet on the entry and just feels a bit labored. I prefer the '21 - this might have been picked a bit too late. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2023)

Nose has ripe blackberry, ripe raspberry, crushed black cherry, wet leather, crushed sandstone or old terracotta pots and end of season rose.
Palate has ripe cherry, dehydrated cranberry, ripe raspberry, dried blueberries, dried tart cherry with fine tannins and a long finish.
1500ml, why open two bottles when one will do? Decanted 4H, much more time appreciated. We love how slowly this format ages, it's like one-half speed. 👍
Solid pairing tonight with 'Georgian Chicken'; (local) chicken thighs with dry rub, seared in cast iron then simmered/baked in a walnut/cilantro/serrano/tomato paste sauce, finished with pomegranate seeds & pomegranate vinegar drizzle.

Sappy and precise on the palate, displaying bright, spicy lift and cut to the bitter cherry, raspberry and floral pastille flavors. Fleshes out and becomes sweeter on the finish, which shows superb, floral-driven tenacity and silky tannins that come in late. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, March 2018)
