Domaine De La Chapelle Des Bois
"Grand Pré" Fleurie Gamay
A nice Beaujolais from a vintage that I don’t usually love compared to 2014/2016. Definitely better with an hour or so in a decanter to let the tannins integrate a bit more. Dark purple in the glass - darker than expected. Nice cherry aromas. Still could resolve a bit more on the finish but with a slight chill is nice.

Nov 27th, 2019Am definitely a fan but something entirely different from what I have been having in the Gamays as of late. When opened fresh there was robust fruit with a good bit of tannins. As it opened up over time the tannins definitely cleaned up to truly show the nature of the fruit (strawberry currant) and whatever else made its' presence be known (touch of leather et. al)

Mar 17th, 2019OH! MY! GAMAY! Peppercorn and red cherry at the open, some light tobacco, followed by warm earth.

Dec 24th, 2018Excellent vintage. A really well balanced wine for the price.

Oct 14th, 2018Really lovely wine - riper fruits than I expected from Fleurie, but not overdone. I guess that's the result of a warm vintage. Served chilled on a warm evening and paired wonderfully with sliders and truffle fries.
