Domaine de la Bergerie
La Cerisaie Anjou Cabernet Franc
Tonight I am drinking the 2015 Domaine De La Bergerie La Cerisaie Yves Guégniard Anjou Cabernet Franc.
The nose is a bit tight yet after a bit of swirling and sitting it decides to show itself. There are notes of raspberry, plum, green bell pepper, asparagus, violet and wet gravel.
On the palate the green bell pepper comes out in spades with tart raspberry, new plum, tart cherry, spice and dusty soil.
The wine is medium in body with medium acidity, medium + grippy tannins that has a medium to long finish. Continue the enjoyable weekend and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷

Green pepper on nose comes through on palate. Musky floral notes, too, but falls a little short on palate.

Dec 4th, 2016Subtle bell pepper, earth, spice, unripe red fruit. Shortened finished and limited complexity, however enjoyable for its value.

Nov 7th, 2014Needs at least an hour of decanting! Tried after just half an hour and did not like it at all. Very bright ruby purple in color. Almost magenta near the rim. Very long lingering tears (color even sticks around in the tears). Strong aroma - maybe candied fruit, and something else I can’t quite place. For taste - low acidity, high alcohol, medium tannin, medium low body. Overall good. Wouldn’t go out of my way for it again but enjoyable!

Dec 21st, 2020Lots of body, I think from cab sauv blended in. Fruit forward, but balanced with a smokey, peppery kick.

Oct 2nd, 2020Medium acidity, low tannins, lighter bodied for a cab franc. Stone fruit and minerality on the nose

Mar 8th, 2020A little tight to start, but opens nicely. Quite herbal on the nose. Fantastic with food.
