In a sweet spot. Toasted buckwheat and shaved coconut, dried pineapple, citrus, apricot tagine, brown butter, caramel, sage, white pepper and white tea. Zingy and so long. Salty, with a subtle sweetness and great texture. Resonant minerals round out the finish. Superb.

There’s actually a real affinity between these noble Bordeaux blancs from Chevalier and Lopez de Heredia’s gran reserva blancos.

Lemons, lemon meringue, lime, guava, apricots, nectarines, vanilla, wet stones, touch of honey, amazing minerality, acidity is right on, good balance and a fantastic long finish.

Drinking Graves on a plantation in Louisiana and with the cool temps and hot gumbo, this mid to bold blend of cab (66) merlot (28) and petit Verdot (6) will keep on giving for another decade easy.
