Domaine de Cause
La Lande Cavagnac Cahors Malbec
I like it. It's drinkable and tastes like a nice Malbec. You can tell it's not quite from South America because it has a velvety texture that feels European. Not as fruity as a good Argentinian Malbec but does offer great balance and drinkability. Totally recommend to any Malbec lover. Just had it with a juicy steak and totally satisfied.

Aug 15th, 20152009 Vintage - the nose was a bit closed to start so I decanted. Upon opening up, much better. Prunes, black pepper, and dark cherries on the nose. The palate had some dark fruit notes, pepper, and anise. Not really deep, but reasonable for a Thursday night wine with a hearty beef stew.

Nov 9th, 2014Deep ruby. Nose of black fruit (black berries, currants) black licorice, mineral, prune, vanilla with hints of herbs and black tea. still heavy alcohol. Full bodied with mildly silky tannins, characterized by oak, earth... Still kind of tight. Long finish. Needs a few yrs. 87
