Domaine de Cambes
Red Bordeaux Blend
Decanted for 3 hours. Silky texture and mouthfeel. Not too much complexity, but an affordable example of Mitjavile style.

Pretty decent acid holding it together. Oak was a hot mess 5 years ago, now it is fully integrated. Fruit is maturing but still has freshness. still plenty of tannin. In a good spot. probably 2026 for my final bottle..

Aug 31st, 20242014 vintage. Ain't nothing pretty afoot but this delivers the dark side goods. Medium-heavy body. Sweet tobacco on the finish and Tootsie Roll + dark rum on the nose. Not the most articulate wine but it gets a sludgy point across. Should sally forth in this way for another half-decade. Very instructive as to what is possible in the Bordeaux hinterlands. Tastes more chi-chi/foo-foo obscenely pricey Napa Cab/red blend than Gallic-based. Voices were raised in France and something was broken in anger at some point somewhere after tasting this. 7.17.24.

Mar 8th, 2021Still so youthful and so fresh - no hurry to drink this until 2030. Red fruit, m+ acidity, 100% new oak does the job

Nov 21st, 2020Pleasantly surprised by this one. Young but approachable. I believe this will really shine in about 5 years when it becomes more integrated. Intense nose. Powerful big body. Oak along with blue and black fruit. Somewhat grippy tannins bringing it all together. Nice Bordeaux, Shake Shack, and Tour de France, it’s a good night.

Sep 18th, 2020Got this is a grab bag kind of wine and was more than pleasantly surprised. The word that comes to mind is meaty, this was a thick wine it had leather and smoked meat and roasted fruits on it. I absolutely loved it.
