Boisrenard Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend

Soft red berry and underbrush nose led a plush, smooth and liquored-up core of red plum and kirsch. Lots of variation in this case but I loved em all so far.

Deep Ruby with aromas of dark red fruits with spice and blossom notes. On the palate black cherry and blackberry flavors with tea and black pepper spice. Fine firm tannins, good integration and balance, medium+ finish ending with ripe fruit character. Nice!

A little Rhône fun during Christmas Eve dinner with a North/South option for our surf and turf affair of sous vide New York Strips and Ribeyes with King Crab legs. Popped and poured, this was a magnificent and lush example with perfectly ripe brambles, garrigue and spiced fruitcake. Mouth coating without feeling heavy or overbearing in anyway. Tannins are resolved and I can say with a high degree of confidence that these are in a great place for drinking now. In case anyone was wondering, the Northern Rhône we drank alongside was a European bottled B. Levet Côte Rôtie “Les Journaries” (known there as “La Maestria”).

Earthy mushrooms and red cherry nose leads intense cassis and kirsch notes. Beautifully resolved tannins showing up for a sandy, woody finish that lingered forever. Ready now with a short decant but years to go. Superb.

Needed an hour decant to blow off some suspect funk - exotic and Asian spices, licorice, dried meats and sauvage dominated the dark ripe fruits - still youthfully powerful

Gripping and Sandy tannins bright fruit red fruit soft but gripping pure and not overwhelming

Reddish violet color. Translucent but dark. Warm fruit nose. Notes of red cherry, kirsch, herbs, Warm in the mouth, almost to a fault, thanks to the vintage. Rich. Overwhelming. Not my cup of tea.

Starting to smell musty and old in the nose. A long way to go in the glass. Dusty fruit, crushed rock, spice in every corner of your mouth.

Ripe but incredibly well made

Scorched earth nose worth price of admission. Dark compote, cassis and earthy, loamy core. Sweet tannins on the finish. So nice, ready.
