Tasted blind. Dark color, almost opaque. A little taint appears on my first whiff. Sweet fruit, although very masculine and big-shouldered in its delivery. Clearly there is some class and power in this wine, but the taint grew and grew. Not rated given the corked issue.

Was able to enjoy this 1972 in 2001 at a friend's dinner party. A bit soft (as might be expected), but a nice crispness in the finish. Lovely rust color. I loved the dirt of it.
