Vieilles Vignes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

One dimensional and that dimension is raisins. The alcohol is high and it read clipped and flat. Past its prime., it seems.

Rich deep black cherry, blackberry, mint and maybe meat? on the nose. Very smooth, very very fine tannins. Earthy, mint, black tea, forest berries, cassis, delicious.

Musty pine nuts,

Dark, dank fruit leather, deep forest mushroom, oil cured olive, squid ink.
Overtones of honey, which seems familiar in older wines, the acid and oak playing a foxy role in the end of this wine.
Yum. Always worth holding on to the CDP’s for a couple of years.

Needed 2+ hours to get going but once it did it showed very well.

I've had much better bottles from the same case. Disappointed

Fruity but balanced. Starts out mellow but nice. A very gentle wine but one of the better example of châteaneuf de pape.

This was singing, lots of herbs and bitter citrus. Loved it!

Kirsch, cassis with terrific structure. Wonderful and surprising Provençal herb finish. 2010 makes me so happy
