So good for the money!

From a rough vintage saved by low yields make a marvelous Pinot Noir of sandalwood, brown sugar scents eau d'orange -delicious.

A balance of fruitiness and earthiness (forest floor) in the aromas, light on the palate with smooth acidity, soft tannins that build in slowly and then linger, and that same balance of fruit and mushroomy, forest floor earthiness.

Earthy mushroom, wet rock, barnyard, sour cherry, and strawberry on the nose. Long and grippy tannins and a study acidic backbone. Long drying finish that demands food (flank steak tonight) and evolved over the evening. This is nowhere near the end of its life.

Very tart. No depth.

Pinot Noir has never been my go-to varietal, but this is what I hope to find whenever I do go there. Turned earth, mushroom, and slight barnyard blend seamlessly with bright cherry, cranberry, and blueberry. M acid and M+ tannins, this was subtle while remaining complex and beautifully balanced.
