du Dessus Echezeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Blue and black fruit, dark spice. Lots of power.

Good material, but extremely reduced. High(rising) pressure today may have influenced. Purportedly better on day 2 after a vigorous shake of the bottle.

Took quite some time to open up. Showing oak at first but with great juice underneath. Turned into leather, dark fruit and spice. And the finish was unbelievably long. Gorgeous but I would wait another few years before opening.

Best burgundy producer...? Violets and rose petals. Stones. Fruit & tannin still wound up.

Echezeaux "du dessus" 2008

Not picking up the brown spice, but still a lovely bottle of Burgundy.

Off bottle unfortunately! But no shortage of great wines here to make up for it!

Red cherry and berries, elegant floral notes, standard vosne spices. This is a stellar burgundy that hits all the right notes and does so with delicacy and elegance.

Beautiful nose, young and sexy. Need time breath. Complex but lack balance in the beginning , but eventually it comes together.
