Domaine Carneros (Taittinger)
Late Disgorged Brut Chardonnay Blend

The ‘12 is not quite as round as the ‘11. Not showing it’s 6 years on the lees as boldly. Still some toasty notes to compliment the white fruit and acidity. Has only been in bottle for a few months so might integrate a bit more in the short term.

Usually not a fan of Dom. Carneros (due to excessive CO2 in current/early releases) their Late Disgorged stuff has my attention.

This thing ends up with 6 years on the lees and damn does it benefit (that is 2x the standard length of time). It was my favorite at the winery in a lineup of their sparklers and it still sings now. Toasty and creamy, but underneath are beautiful bass notes from pinot and brightness from the chard. Delicious.
