Domaine Cabirau
Côtes du Roussillon Grenache Blend
Heat and abrasive chemical quality. Not bad, and really quite good surrounding the odd flavors.

Sweet nose of cherry pie, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, licorice, cloves, oak, cola, vanilla, wild flowers and black pepper.
Medium Bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate, with blueberries, cherries, sweet raspberries, earth, plums, dirt, red currants, spices, pencil lead, black pepper, leather, licorice, vanilla and oak.
Medium finish with round tannins and spices.
Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food.
A great blend of 70% Grenache 20% Syrah and 10% Carignan.
I really enjoyed the nose, on this French blend, and the palate did not disappoint at all.
I paired it with a cheese plate, but will pair nicely with lamb chops and grilled potatoes.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Jan 29th, 2016Mostly red fruit, acid, a little rosy, licorice snap, garrigue, wet cement. Pretty damn good for a cheapie. Like a little baby CDP.

Jul 8th, 2014This big, highly extracted and Grenache-based wine has really sweet almost jammy bluish fruit with dried fig notes. What is remarkable are the really large chain but dupple tannins. It's drinkable, but this is not what Grenache should be for me.
