Les Travers Côtes du Rhône Villages Cairanne White Rhône Blend

Bright but deep gold. Honey is the first thing that hits from the big bosomy nose, followed by a hint of white flowers. Medium full palate echoes the nose with white pepper and citrus pith taking the lead over layers of minor flavors. Medium acidity and a lengthy, brooding finish (with that honey returning right at the end). Wow. What a gorgeous white Rhône. Near CdP level complexity at an upper CdR price. An excellent wine for roasted pork or poultry, root vegetable casseroles, pot pie, or any other rich “white wine” dish. You could even have this with grilled fare. Drink now through 2025.

Honey, Mellon and pears. Low acidity. Went well with albacore tuna

Delicate white floral honeysuckle, wildflower honey, caramelized sugars. Soft and elegant. Well balanced, no sharp edges. An outstanding wine! I'm disappointed that we only have one bottle on hand.

Låg (eller åtminstone anmärkningsvärt kort) syra med lätt krämig karaktär. Stenfrukt, jasmin och snäckskal. Aperitiffig!

2018 vintage. Bought at Brusset in Cairanne. Drunk 12 mars 2020 at La Genestiere with choucroute.

Fruits blancs, minéral, belle amertume

Rich mineral notes on the nose with slight hints of citrus and stone fruits. Rich, bright and slightly waxy on the palate. Zesty flavors of lime combine with a bit note of limestone. The finish is crisp full of bright acidity but fades very quickly.

Lovely, very light bodied but very nice.
