Vieilles Vignes Les Corbeaux Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Vineyard sits right next to Mazis. Mid garnet in color. Has a certain sparkle to it. Light char note to it from the oak. Leans on the lighter side for a Premiere Cru, nonetheless great purity.

Very tight. Many years to go.

Subtle and sensitive

The tannin has resolved nicely. Was pleasantly surprised by the bright cherry fruit and lift in the glass. Acidity was on point.

No complaints but I was expecting a bit more Burgundy magic. I love the producer and have had pretty good luck with other '08 burgs.

I wouldn't call it exotic, like Bob did, but definitely layered and multidimensional.

Nose of dark cherry licorice, crazy acid, no mean greenies. Not seem less but quite pretty.

Lots of baking spices notes. Some red fruit notes. Aging nicely. I'd say drink in the next few years.

Developed, a lot of dried tea leaf. Good.

Intense fruit, ripe, bread pudding, earth, blackberry, tart.
