Could have better balance for a Saumur-Champigny, but this wine is light, bright, fruit forward and satisfyingly mustydusty on the nose. Tons of vaguely herbal, funky, barnyardy goodness is joined by graphite and wet stone without being terribly tannic. Develops more berry fruit with excellent black currant and raspberry as it opens, as well as some notes of green pepper. Good with duck liver.
