Great aromatics, but the 2014 was WAY too flabby for anything “Northern” Rhône. Super ripe fruit - white peach, ripe red pears, cream de coconut. But the alcohol is too high - states 13%, but it’s higher - and without acid it’s just a bit limp.

Just what the doctor ordered. The aromas alone make this a winner. Savory aged meats dusted in peppercorns and herbs. Palate is medium and finish isn't the wines strength, but the aromatics are the real deal.

Low ph soils? Another Phlabby Rhone white.

Marsanne 95%, Roussanne 5%, this unfiltered wine has the complexity and aromatics I expect in a Saint Joseph Blanc. Very long finish. Contains the meat like quality of a complex white. This is not to be wasted on the average new world wine consumer. Only 50 cases have been sent to the U.S.

Perhaps some bottle variation. Previous bootle was decent/good, while this was a bit ox’d

A tight nose, perhaps more air would help bring it out. But it’s savory palate is a perfect match for Spanish eggplant w honey & lemon. Tropical but muted, a wonderful viscous mouthfeel that Carries some wood I’m betting. I see some ratings in previous yrs really knock it down, but these things are all so subjective. Not an opulent w Rhone, but even with my post Covid mouth, enjoyable, especially with food.

Decent N Rhône white, and a bargain for what I paid at auction.

Magnum for Mother’s Day. Starts bold and calms to a light but rich wine. Good smoked meat and chewy herbs. Tannins are silky and fade quickly. Not the most complex wine, but works well abs better than most southern Rhone.
