Incredibly ready and seductive. The nose is vanilla, cherry compote, burnt orange, sandalwood, fresh leather, tea and bay leaves. Palate is fine and still has a little grip. Wonderful.

Medium weight, cassis, raspberries. The wine is still closed and needs a good 30 minutes to open in the glass. Next to les amoureuses this is true grand cru. Needs a good 8 to 10 years but like so many 2017s is approachable.

Did not suck. Still fresh, but developing nicely. Perfect triangle between fruit, floral and tea/tannin/texture. Makes me want to buy a lottery ticket to afford this stuff. Thank goodness for great, generous friends.

Simply an outstanding, pure and sultry Burg. Bramble funk bouquet, a rich, silky, texturally sexy wine with very lovely fruit and an amazing long, full finish.
