Domaine Berrien Cellars
Lake Michigan Shore Cabernet Franc
This wine I recently had is the 2013 Domaine Berrien Estate Grown Cabernet Franc which is from Berrien Springs, Michigan.
On the nose there is cherry, strawberry, raspberry, green bell pepper, black pepper and herbaceous notes.
On the palate is cherry, strawberry, raspberry, green bell papper, black pepper crushed gravel and earth.
This wine is medium to medium + bodied with medium acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that leaves you with a long red fruit crushed gravel finish. I wish everyone a wonderful weekend. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Tonight's wine is the 2014 Domaine Berrien Cellars Cabernet Franc. Domaine Berrien is my go to winery in Southwest Michigan. Wally and Katie Maurer run a very good operation that I know I can count on for good expressions of Southwest Michigan wine.
On the nose is pronounced red berry fruit, cherry, sweet strawberry, sweet raspberry, pepper, herbaceousness, baking spice and dusty soil.
The red fruit continues through to the palate, tart strawberry, red raspberry, green bell pepper that I Love in my cab franc, tart plum, a touch of oak and a nice minerality.
This is a medium bodied wine with medium + acidity, medium smooth tannins and a long enjoyable finish. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Black cherry aroma, medium oak and tannins. 2005 was a good wine year here in Michigan.
