Lake Michigan Shore, Michigan

St. Julian

Tercero Vineyard Syrah 2017

Michigan Syrah! Believe this was a special [small] production wine and it was really impressive - very Old World style reminiscent of a Crozes with barnyard funk and meat and white pepper and blue/black fruit, camphor and spice and damp soil - all over the place, evolving, lighter weight but a ton of flavors, decent acidity too but bit abrupt on finish. Unexpected surprises from historic American winery. — a month ago

Lake Michigan Shore Pinot Noir 2015

Fabulous red. Light but fruity and rich, a Pinot noir feel with a bold cab taste. Beautiful with light pasta, never going to steal the show but make the best backup dance you’ve ever had. — a month ago

AZO Red Blend 2017

Light bodied with a nice natural red color. Soft aroma of ripe red berries, a hint of woodiness, and somehow the smell remjnds me of being on a Great Lakes beach.

A great balance between sweet and dry. Medium acidity medium tannins. Tasted great a little chilled with some Indian food on a cool summer night. There's a real earthiness to the taste - dates, cranberries, mushroom perhaps.

Avonlea Vineyard Red Bordeaux Blend

2006 vintage. Just excellent. Mature but w all the stuffing. Still plenty of fruit, integrated tannins. Lively taste. Some sweetness to it that is most appealing. Much better than the off bottle i had a few years ago. — 2 months ago
