Domaine Berrien Cellars
Cabernet Sauvignon
This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from my favorite winery in Southwest Michigan, Domaine Berrien Cellars. I have sampled the wines of a good majority of the wineries in Southwest Michigan and Domaine Berrien has consistently proven its metal. Given that it is a Michigan winery it does very well in the making of their wines. This Cabernet is is what I would call their second. Their Crown of Cabernet is their first. This wine on the nose brings good fruit. I get blackberry, black cherry, currant, and licorice. This wines is a well balanced wine and carries over the fruit notes from the aromas. There is blackberry, black cherry and a good currant note. There are nice sandy medium + tannins and medium acidity. By no means is this big and in your face bold but it is a good medium tasty wine with a medium mouthfeel and a good long finish.
