Delicious from open. Fresh, bright dark red fruit, good acid and some sugary sweetness.

Beautiful burgundy in a great place with some air. Quite primary. Some subdued fruit with forest floor leaves on the nose. Wonderful mouthfeel and a very long finish with great acid. Fruit is there along with sweet tannins. One you can really chew on. Had at noble rot in London.

Nice spice and mineral to go with the ripe, dark fruit.

Starts with beguiling fragrance of crushed black fruits, stem-like, musky, anise notes (Bachelet de-stems Pinot) that blossoms into full blown Pinosity. There’s a beautiful purple edge to the color, which is something you don’t see in wines of this age: a very good sign for further cellaring. Flavors combine fruit and savory with smooth tannins/mouthfeel and lengthy finish. Punches way above it’s class.

Fried chicken a la Bouchon's recipe with 09 Mugnier Marechale and Bachelet Gevrey Chambertin. We're talking Shabbat Shalom in the Palisades...

Creosote, smoky elements emerge initially, then settles down with aeration revealing with black fruits (cherries); dark color, more alcohol and tannin are present from this "ripe" vintage but are nicely balanced with surprisingly good acidity.

I sincerely think Robert Bohr is a genius, as is Grant Reynolds! :-)
