Aromes de Citron et agrumes. Belle acidité et longueur en bouche. Excellente avec du fromage.

Drank over two days. Typical « Pinot » nose with red berries, cherries and raspberries. Palate is light to medium bodied, fairly strong acidity with good fruit and tannins to make it balanced, fresh and vibrant. 88-89

Bu sur deux jours. Ça pinote, fruits rouges, cerises rouges, framboises. De corps et de puissance moyenne, assez droit, avec une bonne acidité dans ce millésime, fraîcheur au rendez-vous, mais avec aussi une belle finale et un bon équilibre d’ensemble. 88-89

Beautifully aromatic Pinot Noir from Domaine Bachelet-Monnot in Dezizes-les-Maranges, southernmost commune of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, from several different plots on predominantly calcareous soils in La Fussière 1er Cru. Fresh, structured, precise. Candy (jelly beans or bubble gum?) and coffee liquor in nose. Redcurrant, lingonberries

Discovering Bachelet-Monnot. This is a cote châlonnaise wine normally known for the somewhat rustic style. Nothing of it here. Good concentration, red fruit and flowers, medium bodied and medium length, hint of oak but very civilized and polished tannins. Serious stuff at this price point. Recommended. Approachable now but keep it 4 to 6 years so it delivers its best.

Strong bouquet but softer in the mouth except pretty earthy. Definitely a spicy feel, sharper fruits, made to stand up to stronger food or spices than 2 others today. Should be best with food- not as a drink only.
