Nose is a bit reticent at first but opens up into a mish-mash of dark flowers, granite, dark berries, tree bark, bittersweet cocoa, some cassis and has clear definition and clarity. Succulent and super pure fruit with awesome velvety tannins and terrific freshness and that 15 length. Super pure and super long. All red fruits on the palate. Awesome inner mouth aromas. This is already very complex and will age beautifully. Really fine finesse as well. Just a tremendous wine and value.

Gorgeous nose. Some smoke, some funk, flowers, pure granite, wet stones, really vivid, pure and detailed. Super elegant and wonderful concentration and depth. Velvety tannins. Really high quality tannins. A stunning wine. Best wine I’ve ever had from them. So much material here. Stunningly pure. Long finish and impeccable balance. Still needs 4-5 years for the tannins to to integrate more.

Haven’t had this since January in Côte Rotie. It’s awesome. Decidedly rich on the nose. Almost a liquer like intensity. Gorgeous old wood shavings, library books. Almost cassis. Some black berry. But it’s balanced and fresh just rich. I stood on this slope in February in the sun on a cloudless day and had to strip down to a t shirt. This is a warm site. Awesome palate. Rich and sleek and has that brilliant 2015 Juxtaposition of superb rich fruit and texture with just insane freshness. So juicy with so much fruit and depth and then leaves granite on your palate for days. This is young and arguably closed but super impressive and I’ll circle back once it airs out a bit more.

Nose is musty. May be corked. God hates us all. Some yummy violet peeking out? As this opens more licorice peeks out.

As this opens the aromatics strengthen and the must recedes. Maybe I was wrong. “DAmnit Jim I’m a wine professional not a biochemist!”

Palate has great juicy delicious cherry fruit. Some licorice. Very grippy on the palate. Staining. Rich. More delicious than complex. A big bopper. Interested to taste less giant vintages. Like a more elegant st Joseph this year.

Almost chewy (the adjective not the star wars character).

Whatevs. Having it with steak and duck fat Cooked potatoes. So all good.

Perfectly fine to drink now.
