Last bottle of the trip, taken to Napua at the Mauna Lani. Canary gold color, bright and cheery in the glass. Notes of citrus and kiwi, tropical fruit, wet stones, tan spice, vanilla and white acacia flowers. Rich and glycerol in the mouth, matched with serious acidity. Paired perfectly with a nice Onaga fresh catch, which turned out to be the best prepared fish dish of the trip. Young but drinking well. Aloha!

Straw gold color, bright in the glass. Very Coche-y with a match stick nose and notes of citrus, apricot, petrol, wet stone and tan spice. Great fruit and sneaky acidity in the mouth. Some vanilla creme and tropical fruit comes on with air. Not bad for the hot 06 vintage, I wonder if the 92 white burgs tasted like this at age 16?

Dull light gold. Heavy like oil in the glass. Apricot, clove, white acacia flowers, wet gravel stone and a little brown butter. In the mouth it’s rich and big. High pitched, fruity with sneaky acidity. Long finish. Has the 05 vintage richness. Has the Coche complexity and structure. Still early in its window of giving pleasure.

Domaine Coche Dury is arguably the most sought after internationally of white Burgundy domains according to Jasper Morris MW in his tome “Inside Burgundy “. This wine had aromas of Lemon and Citrus flowers. On the palate Lemon juice - lean with mineral and M plus acidity. In hindsight should have left this last one for a few years. A wine of restraint and elegance - a tinge of honey after a while. For the Coche Dury village style only 25% new wood is used. This wine rarity was suggested to me years ago by a former owner of Prince Wine store and Burgundy nut Phillip Rich. Must seek out later vintages.

Great to have a Coche Meursault even if only a Village. Notes of peach lime and trace of honey. Mineral lean with acidity. 18- Had another bottle on Sept 20 celebrating a Pass with Distinction for WSET Level 3. Lime and mineral notes - also wet stone. Freshly sliced unripe nectarine. Brilliant understated classy white burgundy. 96 points.

Pie crust, spicy and just absolutely ripping acidity.

Light straw color. Coche Dury nose. Nose of lemon curd, wet stone, clove and freshly sliced not ripe nectarine. In the mouth a great balance of fruit and acidity. Shorter finish. Really good for the vintage. JF Coche makes this for Johan at D&S and it's a winner.
