Domaine Capitain-Gagnerot (François Capitain-Gagnerot)
Les Grechons et Foutieres Ladoix 1er Cru Chardonnay
Great minerality in 2011 vintage. Pear, apple, hazelnut. Bright juicy & classic.

Mar 28th, 2015Layered and textural on many levels. Plenty of fruit right up against a multitude of mineralities. Very Corton blanc in character. Has changed quite a bit since last tasted about a year ago. Plenty of life in this bottle for sure. Lower score than I’d like to give it because this has a bit more fruit on it than I care for in 1er cru white burgundy but nonetheless trying to give what it deserves at least.

Fantastic with the egg soup specialty on the menu... Nutty, rich baby Charlemagne!

Oct 19th, 2015A darn good white burgundy. Hints of hazelnut, cream, and minerality.

Mar 25th, 2020Slight butter, very floral, slight tropical. Mouth is perfectly balanced, lasting acidity, not explosive but very energetic. Excellent 1er cru, just what I want out of 1er cru, especially for the money.
