Dom Pérignon
Oenothèque Millésimé Brut Champagne Blend
Light. Bright. Punchy. Steel and limestone in the nose. Tingling acidity. Great depth. Young still. Pretty thrilling stuff.

Oct 17th, 2021Last week was a combo of 4th Friday and Open That Bottle Night on back to back nights. Needless to say, the lineup between both days was full of heavy hitters, so I’m only posting standout bottles.
The insane champagnes continued with this also from @joe leatherwood . I think this may be the best Dom I’ve had to date (up there with the 2000 P2). Where the Selosse was oxidized and powerful, this was more finesse and layered. Still retaining a lot of those warm/fresh baked bread notes as well as honeyed stone fruits, this showed more chalk, limestone, and “lift” to it. A streak of minerality was noticeable down the middle of the palate. Caramel nougat, and a wonderful balance of floral notes highlight the finish. Bravo!

Great broad fruit. Lemon oil, chalk, tingling acidity. Great stuff.

Sep 11th, 2019This is sheer class. Very light and fresh and focused with electric acidity, a fine mousse. Fantastic mid palate with secondary notes but a great thrust of acidity and crystalline structure. Such a consistently great champagne.

Feb 20th, 2019This was my first Dom Pérignon, and unfortunately, it was corked.
Just for historical reference, here are my notes. Herbaceous nose with notes of lemon curd, apple and wet wool (woof). Sharp and bland mouthfeel with short flavours of iodine and apples. What comes next? A huge nothingness. There is only acidity, and that's it.

Extraordinary, incredible, superlative, just WOW! Simply one of the best champagnes I have had. Yes full and rich and at the same time so lean and tart. This one was an amazing experience. Thank you Jeff for sharing this beauty.
