I admit to not being a big Dom fan but this was flat out disappointing. I know they usually need a bit of age to really shine but I simply don’t find the potential in this (vintage).
Picked up from the “High-end” cabinet under lock at Raley’s for $230 with the intent of using a 20% savings coupon for “1 bottle of French Wine”.
At the register:
Me: ...and then I have this savings coupon”.
Employee: “it doesn’t seem to scan. (looking closer at the bottle) Oh yeah - it has to be a French Wine”.
Me: “but?? it is”
Employee: “No, Sir, this is a Champagne. The coupon is only valid for a French wine”
Me (slightly perplexed): “Have a nice weekend”.

I’m not a usual champagne person, but was really impressed by this. I saw a rating that mentioned oysters, and I think they nailed it. Its crips, has this oyster house background, with a light lemon, crisp grass and fruits in the background.
