Salta Torrontes
Holy mother of everything good.
Let's talk about the nose: lychee, pine, baked lemon, acacia and hibiscus. Weird, right?
The palate is more of the same! I tasted this blind and was thoroughly confused by it. Ended up calling an Argentinian gewurztraminer for the lychee and basically for the craziness of it all it could only come from a South American country.
Despite its strangeness this is a DELICIOUS wine. Sweet fruit and tons of other stuff for anyone else. Worth. It.

Sweet on the nose. I catch dill also. Dry palate. I think would go better with food than by itself.

Venturing to South America to try my hand at a Torrontes. There is a beautiful nose on this bottle. The fruit is bold and tickling the senses with peach, grapefruit, passion fruit and tangerines. On the palate the peach comes true along with the tangerines. There is a good minerality with a descent acidity but not over bearing.

Jul 8th, 2013Don’t drink these often. This one was a big surprise. Pungent dill was the main aroma. Elderflower and bitter lemon had a showing. Finished very herbal. Slight buttery texture. It was a unique experience. Went shockingly well with grilled salmon. I guess it was the lemon and dill

Apr 24th, 2018Excellent for a hot summer day. Great with spicy food. Sips well, starts a bit sweet but doesn't linger and finishes dry.
