So happy to see the Unfamiliar at goat.sheep.cow this week! I love this wine. Well-balanced, fruit forward but still with subtleties. Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s great with pork/lamb/etc but I love it all by itself ๐Ÿ˜

Sow's ear -> silk purse. Lemons -> lemonade. Ashes -> Phoenix. Or something like that. Whatever the crappy input was, the output is juicy glou-glou American vin du soif by way of Beaujolais with a sidecar of natty Southwest France. I want this all the time. (Though not at the expense of declassing all the single vineyard fruit that's in here.) Even better when you're glamping in Baja. @Hardy Wallace

Seriously- I could drink this wine every single day. It has perfect acidity, balanced juicy raspberry fruitiness, complex aromas such as flint and toasted clove, mushroom, and just the right amount of alcohol for an old world lover. Clean and to the point.

What a fantastic wine. Wow. Though these guys are known pioneers in the upcoming Natural Wine world, this particular vintage was a hard year in a number of ways, resulting in a unfamiliar territory for the family. However, this wine was out-freaking-standing.
Slightly funky on the nose, but beautiful red fruit and luscious velvet tannin on the palate. Absolutely my favorite pizza wine now.

Iโ€™m still not entirely sure how I feel about these wines, but on a warmer city night at cellar temp this is soft, fruit forward and quite enjoyable.
