I love Sangiovese! Not in all its forms, but this Classico Riserva is utterly fantastic. Wet earth and dark fruit on the nose. The palate brightens up with lively acidity, red fruit and red currant. Tannins linger on the long dusty finish. Complimented my ribeye with Gorgonzola perfectly.

I don't believe this cuvée is in production any more, and it's a shame. A beautiful and lush style of CC. Cherry component is a little darker, tobacco piece is a bit more savory, and so on.
