Buttered tangerine. Enjoyable, but the alcohol is probably over done.

Light straw in color giving off a bouquet of lemon oil, orange pith, lemongrass and wet gravel. In the mouth the wine gently offers ripe pears, candied ginger, lemon sorbet and saline. A glycerin like texture finishes with a fresh, crystalline, mineral laden crescendo. A Chablis clone, except for the indiscernible high alcohol level. Bravo, maybe my al time favorite CA Chardonnay. #diatom #gregbrewer #hubervineyard

Probably too young. Ok but nothing really standing out.

Smells of Mutch right out of the bottle. Over ripe fruit, pine, rubbing alcohol. It's smooth and sour.

This was a great wine. Maybe a little past peak but it went really well with mini corn dogs and honey mustard sauce.

Absolutely nothing like Greg Brewer's Diatom wines. The 2008 Huber is in my top 5 chardonnays I've ever had. Incredibly primary in its flavors, at 7 years old this wine is still awesome. Anyone who thinks there's some arbitrary alcohol percentage necessary in order to make a great wine needs to try this 15.8% chard that is perfectly balanced. Need to cool it down a bit - and there's a relatively small temperature window to work in - but this wine is fantastic when you hit it just right. Too bad more people don't try to experiment like this. Great pay-off when it works. This wine is just a joy to drink!
