Dark, angry, showing some structural stiffness for a bit. Unwound eventually, loved the dark and deep profile it has. The oak is a little pushy, but melted more into the wine after a couple hours. Smoke, roasted black cherry and cassis, forest, granite, beef, so much black pepper.

This last time I had this wine it was very underwhelming... I would say this is a different story. Beautiful fruits, acid, and elegance. Lovey, lovely wine!

Bright purple. Powerful cherry, cassis, potpourri, exotic spice and olive qualities on the highly perfumed, complex nose. Sweet and energetic on the palate, offering impressively concentrated black and blue fruit preserve, floral pastille and spicecake flavors that unfold steadily with aeration. In a powerful but energetic style and quite primary now. Aeration brings up smoky bacon and floral pastille qualities that carry through the strikingly long, youthfully tannic finish, which leaves behind sweet dark and floral notes. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, September 2019)

Nice tawny purple color. Warm inviting nose. Notes of black cherries, raspberry, moist earth, a little slate and menthol. Great balance of rich fruit and softened tannins. In a great drinking zone. Disappeared quickly.

Dark tawny color. Opaque. Notes of black cherries, menthol, blueberries, spice and slate stone in the nose. Incredibly rich in the mouth with lovely structure and softened tannins. Long finish. This is in a great spot right now.

White pepper and vanilla in perfect balance with black fruit. Bacon keeps getting bigger the longer open.

This bottle just plain rocked it out. Like when you adjust your golf swing, and the next thing you know every drive is long and straight and there's lots of birdies. You don't want the round to end, but eventually it does.
