Dense in the glass already
Quite a muscular pinot to be Tasmanian
It still has elegant scents that move from the fruit to the floral. Still a touch of SO2 evident when you smell it i think, it is like a blanket that needs to be taken off.
It feels like it is a bomb that could open up some days.
It needs time, but the quality is obvious
At this stage i enjoyed the Petrichor better, but i am super curious to re-look at this wine in a few years.
This is the first vintage produced, but there are already great reviews.

Flamsheed’s new project. Lots of whole bunch in this. Very vegetal on the nose and then rhubarb and red/dark fruit profile with some reductive notes. Quite muscular and structured for a Coal River wine. Excellent concentration with good length. Vegetal character dominates but not out of balance.
