There is a very bitter root/dirt note covering the fruit here...I’m trying this at pop and pour so maybe it will blow off. Chalky and very underripe red and black fruits on the nose with a touch of pepper. Much better on the palate with raspberry, currant, plum, and high percentage dark chocolate. Acidity is low and the tannic structure isn’t as in your face as I expected a ‘13 to be. I’d enjoy these sooner rather than later.

I had the ‘13 a month or so ago for the first time and thought it was killer for around $40/bottle. This ‘14 isn’t as enjoyable, but pretty solid at pop and pour. Mainly red and black fruits here. Roasted cranberries too with licorice and plum. Fairly light on the palate...definitely more in the elegant style.

This was primal and a touch brash. Needs time to smooth the rough edges.

Very inky--in nose and flavor. Dark fruits, very ripe plum; tart cherry on palate with a buttered pecan finish....definitely needs to open up
