Mar 6th, 2020Was able to taste ‘17 & ‘16 side by side. Estate owned by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, descendant of the Comte Lafond. Vines are aged from 25 to 35 years. The soil is a combination of clay, limestone and silica. The ‘17 has a more golden color. Aromas of floral scents, fruit notes with mineral tones. On the palate the wine is elegant with white flesh fruit and citrus flavors with tangy wet stone, with an underlying sweetness. Well balanced with acidity lingering finishes with chalky notes. Very nice, consistent quality, ‘17 a bit better.
